Former Spokesperson Alleges Workplace Discrimination

Alameda, California – Former spokesperson Patti Lee has filed a legal claim against Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price, alleging workplace discrimination against Asian Americans. Lee seeks a $1.5 million settlement for emotional distress, citing discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and failure to pay wages.

Lee accuses Price of perpetuating a culture of anti-Asian bias in the workplace, fostering racist views, and hindering transparency with journalists. She claims Price openly referred to her adversaries as “the media and the Asians” during her six-month tenure in 2023.

The lawsuit also implicates Price’s communications director, Haaziq Madyun, alleging a lack of cooperation with document disclosure and potential tampering with records. Lee contends that her termination, delivered abruptly on December 12 without reason, was retaliatory in nature.

The legal action against Price comes amidst a recall effort targeting the district attorney and follows previous accusations of racism within the Alameda County DA’s office. Lee’s law firm has set a deadline of March 11 for the District Attorney’s office to respond, signaling readiness to pursue litigation if necessary.
