Liberty Reverse Mortgage Faces Lawsuit for Labor Violations

CALIFORNIA – Liberty Reverse Mortgage, one of the leading reverse mortgage lenders, is under scrutiny after being accused of failing to comply with California labor laws. The class-action lawsuit, recently filed by former employee Michaela LaNere in the Sacramento County Superior Court, alleges a series of irregularities that may have impacted numerous workers.

The lawsuit contends that Liberty Reverse Mortgage failed to provide its employees with proper breaks, meal breaks, and compensation for off-the-clock work and overtime. These alleged breaches could have resulted in wage loss and other damages for the affected workers.

The plaintiffs seek various corrective and compensatory measures. These include requesting class certification to prevent future illegal conduct by Liberty Reverse Mortgage. Additionally, they seek payment for all unpaid overtime hours worked and unlawfully withheld compensation.

In addition to compensation for unpaid overtime hours and unfulfilled meal and rest breaks, the plaintiffs seek restitution for any profits Liberty Reverse Mortgage may have gained as a result of these alleged violations. Additionally, compensatory damages covering expenses incurred by employees in the performance of their job duties, as well as any legal fees associated with the case, are requested.

The lawsuit filed against Liberty Reverse Mortgage raises serious allegations about its labor practices. If the labor violations are found to be true, the company could face significant legal and financial consequences.
